Paris is known as the City of Lights and typically portrayed by its iconic features like the EΩiffel Tower. However, to reveal its charms, you have to look through the eyes of its inhabitants.
François Paufique, a renowned French photographer, has interviewed 50 Parisians, trusting them to thoroughly convince him of their chosen ways of life in Paris. From tattoo artists to curio shop owners, each of them tells a different tale of existence in the city and through François' lens, their private lives and deepest emotions are unraveled.
In his debut photo exhibition in Jakarta, François will showcase 50 portraits of Parisians leading various unconventional lifestyles. In a series of black and white portraits, the colorful streets of Paris come alive as images displayed in over-sized prints will be presented in a raw, edgy nature composed with original sounds and recorded interviews of each unique personality captured on the lens.
Aptly titled Paris*forREAL, the exhibition will also include special works by French digital artists Ivann Franchi and Bruno Picconi, with exclusive prints by Indonesia's Yori Antar.
The exceptional presentation of both visual and audio techniques, PARIS for REAL will be held at The Papilion on Jalan Kemang Raya from 8 to 24 February. For more information, contact Dita or Karen at +62 361 719 0789 or visit www.lingablanc.com
