Transportation Minister Hatta Radjasa dismissed on Wednesday a warning from the United States government against using Indonesian airlines, saying that it would not affect the airline industry.
"I don't think that there will be a direct impact from the warning," Hatta told reporters here.
Hatta said that the warning was not the first to be given by the U.S. government.
Following a string of deadly accident, the United States government advised on Tuesday its citizens not to use Indonesian airlines.
Separately, legislator Alvin Lie told detik.com news portal that most Indonesian airlines used American-made airplanes such as the Boeing 737 and MD-80/90 series.
